Black Domina

black domina marijuana strain
Posted by at 5:00 PM on October 15, 2013

Black Domina is a powerful smoke. The resinous buds range from a harsh peppery scent to the dark smell of blackberries. Not intended for the sweet tooth, Black Domina buds taste smoky and spicy, leaving some tokers wondering if the pipe contains hashish along with the weed.

Black Domina embodies the indica high, with overpowering body effects. This strain is a great buzz for a day off or a nightcap when no serious work lies ahead. This multiple cross is basically the result of stacking four of Sensi’s heaviest selected indicas in one hybrid: the Afghani SA, the Ortega hybrid developed in Canada, and a combination of the Hash Plant and the famed Northern Lights, both of which have origins in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

I was provided with a nice sized sample of a  Black Domina nugget that was dense and tight. It had a deep dark purple hue giving a black color appearance with noticeable orange/red “hair” frosted over with trichomes.

Black Domina's aroma hints of dried fruit (dry plum, dry apricot), spices, and black pepper. It taste very strong and “hash/resin” like with a slight sweetness for an after taste and buzz (1 to 1.5 hours) is heavy and full body high providing relaxation and pain relief.

* Review is “First Impression” as product provided was a sample and used exclusively for one day.
My sample marijuana nugget of Black Domina was one of the darkest marijuana nugget I’ve seen in quite some time. Nice in appearance, I just looked it for a few days before medicating with it.

I had my first bowl of Black Domina in the morning followed by late morning and afternoon. This strain was a bit of creeper to me. A light head buzz progresses into a full body buzz in about 10-15 minutes after completion of a bowl with me. Once kicked in, I experienced a very heavy head buzz with an ample sensation of “body pressure” with slight “body tingle.” I felt as if I was “chilled out.” Black Domina is a very relaxing and stress relieving strain as well as providing nice pain relief after my morning gym session.

Although just sampling one marijuana nugget, I was not couch locked with this strain. Actually for my tolerance (since I also use concentrates), this was a decent “daytime” smoke, but I was a bit a slow moving around; thus not the best strain to medicate with if you have something really productive to do. I got my work completed, but took more time than usual. For me, Black Domina is best for listening to beats or catching up on rest while watching television.

Overall taste can a bit rich as there was a strong “hash” taste on each of my bubbler hits. I got four decent bubbler bowls in my Mobius with the sample marijuana nugget received. At the end of day, my glass was heavy with resin and that’s just with four bowls. Each bubbler bowl hit would keep me medicated good for a hour to hour and half; not bad, but do wish the strain had some more legs as I do enjoy the overall buzz effect.” – ie420 patient

Purple Urkle comes from Mendo Purps pheno and is native to the notorious green triangle in northern California.

Purple Urkle is characterized by unusually long orange hairs covering small, dense, purple nugs when properly grown and harvested.

The color is a purple much like that found on quality strains of Lavender, although despite common misconception, the two are not related.

“Much like many of the purples circling CA at the moment this one smells, you guessed it, like purple! Appears to be a vibrant purple and the taste is like that of some really good purple kush i’ve had back in my day. Secretly keeping a big nug in my hidden stash for those rainy days.” – Bates1974

Jillybean

jillybean marijuana strainPosted by at 9:32 AM on August 24, 2013

The Jillybean strain was created by the legendary Subcool of TGA Genetics.

Make sure to check out Subcool’s site; there’s some amazing info over there:
“Jill was lucky enough to be gifted this amazing Orange Skunk and they day we smoked the finished bud we knew we had to outcross it with our Space Queen male. You don’t really have to be a master breeder to figure out Orange and Pineapple Mango will be a good combination. The resulting outcross is remarkably stable and is close to a 50/50 representation of the parents. Topped only once in grows into a nice short bush with lots of side branching and multi heads. Flavors range from Orange, Tang, Candy, Mango, and Apple.”

Like the name implies, this is a sweet, fruit flavored bud that tastes like a mix of jellybeans and pineapple. Jillybean has a dark forest green color with some red hairs and lots of sticky resin. The high from this strain is mellow, giddy, and friendly. It’s good for daytime use and can be used to treat depression and chronic pain.

“JillyBean is one of my all time favorite strains. It is always covered in red and orange hairs, making it look more orange than green haha. The smell is Similar to that of candy very sweet and fruity one of the more unique and distinct aromas I have ever happened upon. Jillybean nugs upon being cracked will “snow” kief and crystals all over your table, i had a jar with just 3.5g of jilly in it and there was enough kief in the jar for a whole bowl!” – Dabbindabshirt

LA Confidential is a commercial seed strain that captures the genetics of OG Kush.

An Afghan strain grown from clones, OG Kush first became popular in the Los Angeles market in the 1990s, and then became world famous as California rappers like Snoop Dogg and Cypress Hill name-checked it in their songs.

OG Kush offers a hash-like experience from reefer: a resinous smoke, deep and spicy-sweet like nutmeg, that draws the smoker into a lush, slightly trippy dreamland. While “Authentic OG Kush” may be hard to find if you’re not a rap star, DNA’s LA Confidential brings the secrets of this celebrity smoke to the market.

GDP

gdp marijuana strainPosted by at 9:14 PM on August 26, 2013

Green bud nuggets begin to show purple hues as they mature on Granddaddy Purple cannabis plants.

This all-Indica marijuana strain is known worldwide for its many phenotypes that include Grape Ape, Grandaddy Grape Ape and Purple Erkel to name just a few.

The strain hails from the Northern Californian hills as it has for more than 20 years. It grows very well indoors, either in water, air or soil. It has a predisposition to be short in bushy, as Indicas will.

A euphoric effect about the same as the Purple Urkle is produced, a devastating Indica. This is a great night time strain because it’s such a heavy indica buzz, with a very pleasant upper head body and warmth buzz which fades into droopy red eyes, munchies and complete pain relief and sedation.

“Granddaddy purp is perfect for my late night back pain. A few hits from the vaporizer and the pain really subsides and I can relax. The potency varies a little bit but always hits strong and helps for falling asleep. Which really helps!” – trailblazin420

Mango Kush

mango kush marijuana strain Posted by at 1:00 PM on October 1, 2013

Mango’s parentage is part KC 33 and part Mango from a hippie fellow who grew it for 30 years, then let KC use it as a cross in 1991.

It is a 100 percent indica strain that grows large and produces prodigiously.

Don’t let Mango’s slow start fool you – this variety will eventually rival the impressive size of many KC varieties, which are especially intended for outdoor grows.

If you want Mango to stay at an average size in an outdoor garden, allow only 3 weeks of vegetative time and transplant outdoors as late as July in Northern latitudes. Mango can also be grown in an indoor garden, but needs a lot of space.

“MANGO! Mango kush is a sweet tasting hard hitting yet mellow smoking wammy all in one. This batch of mango kush is above all others, really sticky but perfectly cured. A little leafy but not the buds fault!” – Trippinonbuds

This wondrous strain stems from two quite potent strains: Black Domina and Raspberry Cough.

The mother, Black Domina, is native to the Pacific Northwest and was cloned and sent to Amsterdam. Blackberry combines the overwhelming indica traits of Black Domina, and the sativa qualities of Raspberry Cough.

“The Blackberry is an exceptional flower. Covered In frost it instantly catches your eye amid the other strains. The Nuggets are covered in frost and trichomes also have a slightly purple tint to them, especially when you break it open and look inside, hence the name blackberry.

This strain had a great aroma a mixture of freshness and slight fruity flavor. Upon hitting I instantly felt the effects straight to my head and slow down the rest of my body as I felt relaxed and calm. Heavy indica strain, made me sleep very well that night.” – Dabindabshirt

Death Star

death star marijuana strain
Posted by at 8:03 PM on August 28, 2013

Sour Diesel cross with Sensi Star, Death Star’s effects are a building pressure in the eyes and around the back of the head and temples to start off, with an increase in heart rate and some perspiration happening at times. The body started buzzing early on and this keeps up throughout the experience, though it turns to more of a warming feeling as it goes on.

“Thick,” fat deep green nugs fluffy nugs with ample orange/red hair. A real nice two finger sticky bounce.

Smell: A mix of Khuynh-Deip Eucalyptus oil and nutmeg.

Taste: Very smooth with similarities to sour lemon and fuel on the top of the palate. Hints of pink lemonade on the after taste that changes up to sour lip puckering lemon causing dry mouth.

Buzz Type: Heady with full body tingle and a bit of pressure sensation (behind the eyes). Euphoric.
Buzz Length: Average to Above Average (1 to 1.5 hours)

* Talk about an “interesting” strain…
Death Star OG does not always hit right away. The moment you think, “Ah man… this bud is not…” then BAM! Out of nowhere I was encased in full body tingle quickly followed by dry mouth. This strain hit me more like a really solid hybrid with that kush quality of “eye pressure” relief combined with a tingly, euphoric full body experience that actually provided me with energy. Around half a hour into a bowl, I felt very “jumpy” – Full tingle experiences is most intense around this time.

But… not enough “legs,” but at peak intensity “buzz” is very good. About half hour at most. The intensity of buzz varied slightly with the one larger nug not hitting as hard as the others.

Pinching the fresh nug left a stickiness on my fingers and when needing to clear my allergy ridden nostrils, all I needed to do is take a deep sniff of the jar that this strain was stored in. Death Star OG did give me a serious case of “Yuck Mouth,” so make sure to have gum and/or liquid or hand. If at home and leaving, I just felt the need to brush my teeth if medicating with this strain.

Worth a try if a “Marijuana Connoisseur” to experience what I felt overall was an “interesting” and a bit of a “trippy” buzz.” – ie420patient

Girl Scout Cookies

girl scout cookies marijuana strain Posted by at 5:29 PM on August 22, 2013

Girl Scout Cookies
If you live in the Bay Area, you’ve likely heard of Girl Scout Cookies. Whether it’s from one of the songs by the famous San Francisco rapper, Berner or actually trying it yourself, Girl Scout Cookies is a can’t-miss strain that will medicate you beyond your wildest dreams.

Girl Scout Cookies is a potent mix of an OG Kush x Durban Poison x Cherry Kush mother backcrossed with a prime-looking OG Kush father; creating possibly one of the best Northern California strains of all time.

For those of you who are into the Bay Area rap scene, you’ve likely already smoked some of this off-the-charts weed after hearing some of the songs by San Francisco rapper and collective owner, Berner.

Girl Scout Cookies is a Hybrid with frost covered tight and very light weight nuggets with areas of deep “dark”spotting encased in orange/rust colored hair. It has slight hint of pepper with a sweet evergreen funk hitting over the top clearing out the nostrils. Smell can be describe as “minty,” but I had to really “detect” it.

Girl Scout Cookies taste light, but sweet evergreen/spearmint fruit enhanced flavor with a bit of sweet tea leaf after taste. Her buzz is a combination of heady and heaviness providing some solid focus and spatial awareness along with good pain management and relaxation for a very long time. (2 to 2+ hours)

* Girl Scout Cookies, “Original Thin Mints” somewhat threw me for a loop when I first started medicating with it. On my very first bowl, my first thought was; “YES! A Sativa that’s straight up FIRE!” Fact is, Girl Scout Cookies, “Original Thin Mints” (GSC-OTM) is a hybrid strain that was mostly heavy, but also quite heady; headier than most hybrids I’ve medicated with going as far back as I can remember. That initial shot of Sativa like headiness stuck with me on the first bowl for a good while until the more dominant heavy and relaxing Indica qualities take over.

While feeling “up,” GSC-OTM provided me some intense focus and clarity. I was able to get of work done in a short amount of time. I was able to work quite fast. When the heaviness builds up, it feels like someone is taking three of their fingers and pressing against the inside corners of my eyes and bridge of nose. The relief I felt around my eyes was awesome. Very similar to most Kush varieties I’ve medicated with, but with a little added euphoric feeling.

GSC-OTM has a nice initial scent, but the lingering scent can get funky from broken up marijuana nuggets. I found I had to light candles and use spray; not from smoking inside my house, but from after snipping a marijuana nugget. The lingering scent is STRONGER. My wife commented on that several times and although I do not smoke flowers inside my home, I might as well given this flowers lingering smell; which I actually like, but is very noticeable to the “non-user.”

The majority of the time, GSC-OTM did not couch lock me, but the overall buzz effect could be a bit to heavy for some for day use and this buzz is long; with a typical full bowl consistently hitting the 2+ hour mark with me. Knowing that my overall tolerance could be higher due to more concentrate use, having this long buzz term meant a longer duration of use before depleting supply (a good thing). With GSC-OTM, a little goes a long way.

The heaviness of GSC-OTM provided me with great pain relief. I’ve even made note where my head was pounding me one day from limited sleep and after a bowl of GSC-OTM, I was feeling fine. I really like how this strain was mellowing and relaxing while attacking pain while still providing mental awareness. I enjoyed many “happy hours” while medicated with this strain.

When medicating heavy (multiple bowls in a short time span), the come down is noticeable “harder.” This is when I get hit with watery eyes and the case of the yawns. A heavier “come down” made me a bit lethargic.

Crafted in Northern California, I was very happy to get this strain knowing I received the original directly from SAN FRANCISO. An interesting name for a marijuana strain, sometimes I sit back and wonder how it was named. Is it because the dark spotting makes some marijuana nuggets look like green chocolate chip cookies under the camera? Is it because it crumbles like cookie crumbs when breaking up the marijuana nuggets? When breaking off into little “crumbs,” GSC-OTM also burns like a Kingsford charcoal; to a flaky white.

Girl Scout Cookies, “Original Thin Mints,” has been hyped up quite a bit through the Internet and Pop Culture. But this is one strain that DOES live up the hype. Straight FIRE and my first IE420 “Certified Fire” strain of 2012! There are several variations this “Cookie” strain and do hope I am fortunate enough to come across ALL of them!” – ie420patient

Trainwreck burns quick and produces thick smoke that will almost certainly get you coughing.

“This train will smash you! Super dank and frost nugs with the most pleasant smell you’ve ever came across. I almost lost my vision after back to back bong rips filled with 1/2 gram “snaps” a worthy opponent indeed.” – Bates 1974

Chocolope

Posted by at 5:31 PM on September 22, 2013

chocolope marijuana strainWith Chocolope, DNA Genetics continues their project of creating tasty short-flowering sativas and reviving the classic features of old school Thai stick.

The strain’s father, Cannalope, is a sativa line backcrossed for fast finishing. DNA refined this feature still further, then crossed a Cannalope male with an Original Chocolate Thai female.

Tasting is believing: the result retains the special flavors and effects of the OG Chocolate Thai, and lives up to the nickname Chocolope in flavor as well as genetics. It brings back a chocolate edge that was more common among good weed of the 1980s, mixed with the fruity sweetness of the Cannalope.

“A 60/40 Sativa dominant hybrid, Chocolope brings a variety of flavors with excellent aromas. A very fruity smell with a hint of skunk. A very energetic bud that keeps you going all day.” – Dominous

Skywalker OG

skywalker og marijuana strainPosted by at 8:12 AM on September 21, 2013

Skywalker is a hybrid product of the blueberry and mazar strains.

This Indica dominant strain is known to provide above average pain relief, headache management, appetite stimulation and heavy sedation.

The skywalker strain is sticky and mildly fragrant with fruity undertones and a flowery scent similar to other indicas. The effects are immediate and last up to two hours.

A very earthy and “sharp” dank pine smell with hints of lemon and fuel and very similar to the smell. Very earthy with some lemony highlights, but mostly pure dank, smooth “earthy” smoke.

Extremely heavy head buzz. Eyes felt like they were sinking further back into my head. Pressure all around the head. Excellent pain and stress relief! (2+ hours)

Skywalker OG is a heavy Indica strain consistently couch locking me during evening and late night sessions. I did a Sunday morning “wake and bake” session and this strain basically put me in a lazy, “whatever” kind of mood. I had a stress free Sunday which was very pleasant.

Skywalker OG is a very smooth smoking strain for how heavy it hits you. I was able to take nice smooth rips and for those times I needed a little extra, I was also able to take deep hits with very little “cough” factor. This strain is stoney and bit euphoric too. I felt a bit “drunk” like a few times as it felt as if I was swaying when walking.

This strain’s biggest benefit for me is the pain relieving qualities on top of releasing stress. When in some serious pain, a strain like Skywalker OG is one I want to have on hand. A bowl of this does me just as good as a Vicodin or “narcotic” pain pill.

During my last marijuana nugget of Skywalker OG, I actually medicated after doing a 7:00am 5K morning jog. Taking a week off from the gym, I decided to jog 5Ks for that same week. The first day, I was in tremendous knee and neck/upper back pain (it’s been half a year since I jogged outside so, got to work up those “running muscles” again) and bowl of Skywalker OG light sabered that pain away. Being this was in the morning, I was a bit groggy. But, my pain was gone and since I had a good amount of morning caffeine in my system (~200mg), I was “slow” but, not couched.

I have never had a bad bowl or batch of Skywalker OG regardless of what collective I’ve obtained it from. It is just an overall solid strain that performs time after time again.

I love feelin’ that force… probably why Skywalker OG is one top favorite OG’s!” – ie420patient

AK-47

ak-47 marijuana strainPosted by at 3:36 PM on September 1, 2013

Despite its aggressive name, AK-47 has many peaceful tendencies. First bred in 1992, the name suggests the power packed in its dark, resinous, compact buds that bristle with red hairs and glistening trichomes.

AK-47 has a spiced aroma bordering on skunk, with a hint of sandalwood, but tastes sweeter and more floral than the smell would lead one to expect.

The AK-47 buzz is immediate and long lasting with an alert but mellow cerebral effect. Lab tests have rated the THC content at over 20 percent, making it a “one hit wonder” for many smokers. This variety can be a little spacey, but is great for playing and listening to music, or other social activities. AK-47 helped put Serious Seeds on the map with a 2nd place finish in the hydroponics competition and a 3rd place in the overall category at the 1995 Cannabis Cup in the Netherlands.

Jack Herer

jack herer marijuana strainPosted by at 1:38 PM on September 2, 2013

Jack Herer is a prized sativa-dominant indica/sativa hybrid well known for both its cerebral high and its strong body high. The strain is a cross between Skunk #1, Haze, and Northern Lights #5. Jack Herer is the parent to many subset strains.

This very dense strain is soft yet sticky to the touch nugs; light green in color with orange/rust colored hairs and crystallized in trichs.

Smells sweet and spicy. Orange juice, lemon and pepper. Scent will linger in the room for a short bit (but in a pleasant way).

The tast is a very smooth smoke. Although not as noticeable as the smell, there is a sweet underlying tone with this strain with a lemon-peppery after taste. Somewhat like a fruit salad with spicy (taste, not heat) dressing. The inhale was more fruity with the exhale being “ginger” spicy. A very tasty strain!
Buzz Type: Gave me a solid sense of focus and awareness. Can be a bit “racy” during some sections of the buzz. Provided me with energetic full body tingle too.

Buzz Length: Above Average to Long (1.5 to 2 hours)

This is a “Feel Good” strain. Everything was enjoyable around me while medicating with Jack Herer. Sounds were nicely amplified; especially outside.

Jack Herer’s scent is quite strong; especially when scissoring, but the sweetness and spiciness of the smell I do like. The lingering smell is pleasing to my nostrils vs. some of the stronger Indica OG’s I medicate with. A “clean” smoking strain, Jack Herer left behind minimal resin build up in my glass bong.

I found myself flying all over the place during some sessions while really focused with deep intuitive thought on others. I got wrapped up into some “deep” conversations while medicating with Jack Herer.
Overall, just an awesome Sativa that was my perfect daytime medicine when I had various things to do and really needed to multi-task. Still be careful though… a few times while walking forward, it felt like as if someone was pulling me forward. I definitely enjoyed this strain.

R.I.P Jack Herer! You will never be forgotten and your legacy will live forever with this great strain.” – ie420patient

Blue Cheese

blue cheese marijuana strainPosted by at 9:30 AM on September 14, 2013

Blue cheese is one of the all time favorites for pain relief (and many other ailments). it has a wonderfully unique flavor with the undertone of cheese and a smell of blue cheese.

The parents of blue cheese are Big Buddha Cheese x Blueberry. Blue cheese is a personal favorite because of the uplifting/energetic high it produces… this works wonderful for those clients who need to medicate to relieve pain (and countless other elements) but that also need to focus and have drive for a job, taking care of a family or more.

“A fantastic daytime strain for those who need to get things done and get pain relief at the same time.” – Brad420Brad

Kings Kush

Posted by at 12:53 PM on September 15, 2013

kings kush marijuana strainGreen House Seed Company since 1985 has bloomed into one of the most successful seed companies to date. They have also become probably one of the most (of not the most) recognizable Dutch Seed Companies and Coffee Shops around. This is in part because of their top notch genetics. King’s Kush is one of their gems, and is famous for its productivity and powerful, fiery smell.

Kings Kush is a hybrid of a clone of the strain that put Southern California on the map OG Kush and a Grape Ape original clone.

This strain seems to take on more of the Kush traits, which is fantastic for the person who can get their hands on some of these seeds. The OG Kush has become part of pot legend and lore, and has developed into a preferred strain of breeders globally.

“Kings Kush is super potent with a lot of trichomes all over the nugs, super sticky and smokes really good when not too dry. Has a nice heavy exhale and fresh taste.” – HouseblendOG420

Peyton Manning

Posted by
Weed - Peyton Manning Now Has His Own Marijuana Strain

The only surprise here is that it took this long (a week after his 7-TD performance) for a Colorado dispensary to take one of their strains and toss elder Manning face on it. The Sativa-labelling is apt, but the kindergarten art on the label drawn by a budtender’s son doesn’t preach professionalism.

We’ve inquired as to exactly where you can purchase this Manning Kush, but for now, it remains a mystery (and maybe it was just some kid growers having fun). However, you can find a Manning strain at two dispensaries: Sergeant Green Leaf Wellness in Georgetown,Colorado (which also has an Eli Manning strain) and LAPG in LA. For just 25 bucks:

Unfortunately, it probably won’t give you the ability to manipulate 11 grown men, float a Pigskin down from heaven, or fix your broken neck. It does, however, have the unusual side affect of increasing your saliva count.

The combo of strains is a peculiar one for a quarterback from the dirty south: SFV OG Kush is San Fernando Valley Kush, and Chemdawg is an East Coast strain. They’d be better off going with something indigenous to Mississippi, like “Mexican brick weed.”

On the bright side, its shelf life is much more promising than the Ryan Leaf’s strain, described as “The Worst of both worlds, a downward spiraling, delusional, thought-altering Sativa with a pinch of Meth and Ketamine plus the body twerk of the Indica. Prescribed for: furries, skinheads, and Aaron Hernandezes.

Pineapple Kush

Posted by at 12:45 PM on September 8, 2013

Pineapple Kush draws from old-world genetics, a dark green Indica from California.

The feeling is calming and brings a centered sensation. It is good for those that prefer a mellow high instead of a heart-racing speedy sensation. The aroma and flavor is decidedly pineapple, with a subtle sweetness that lingers pleasantly on the tongue.

“I like my kushes and this pineapple kush definitely stands out in aroma and quality, its enjoyably smooth yet packs a considerable punch but not so strong that its overkill and it puts me in a happy chill and social mood. Its just great, you won’t be disappointed with this.” – Moonphoenix89
